Noriko Kodani is a diabetologist at National Center for Global Health and Medicine. She received her Master of Science degree from Osaka University in 1993, and began her carrier in the Pharmaceutical Development Division at the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company from1993 to 2001. In 1998, after giving birth to her daughter, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This life-changing experience inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. She graduated from Keio University, School of Medicine in 2009, and spent her first ten years of her medical career in both clinical practice and basic research at Keio University. Her research focused on islet function. From 2020, she transitioned to the National Center for Global Health and Medicine, where her focus shifted to clinical practice, clinical studies and advocacy for diabetes.
