Dr. Xu is an epidemiologist at Shanghai National Clinical Research Center for Metabolic Diseases. She received her Medical Degree from Nanjing Medical University in 2006 and her PhD degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in 2011. She did her post-doctoral training at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine during 2012-2014. Her research focuses on epidemiology and prevention of cardiometabolic diseases.

Dr. Xu has published major research findings in high-impact journals such as JAMA, Lancet Diabetes Endocrinol, J Am Coll Cardiol, and J Am Soc Nephrol. She has received research funding from National Key R&D Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has also received national talent titles including the ‘Excellent Youth Scholar’ from National Natural Science Foundation and ‘Top Young Scholar’ of National Ten Thousands Talent Program.
