Dr Kousteni served in the Council of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR), as the basic science Chair of the ASBMR 2020 Annual Meeting Program, the Endocrine Society Annual meeting Steering Committee, the ASBMR Task force to Expand Musculoskeletal Research, the ASBMR Program Committee, the Advisory board of the ASBMR Education Resource Center. At Columbia University she serves at the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Medicine, the Dean’s Executive Committee of the Faculty Council, the Dean’s Advisory Committee for Women Faculty and the Dean’s Strategic Research Advisory Committee. She served at the editorial board of JBMR and Bone research and as associate editor of JBMR Plus. She is the Director of a Training Grant in Endocrinology and Metabolism.
The purpose of the research in her laboratory is to understand the influence of the skeleton on various physiological processes. The goal is to uncover the pathogenesis of degenerative diseases and to suggest novel and adapted therapies for them.
