XUE Wenzhi, China
Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine
- Dr. Wenzhi Xue graduated from Chinese Academy of Sciences. The previous research has eluciated the dynamic regulatory mechanisms of the stem cell niche by molecular probes, cell tracing and spatiotemporal imaging (Nature, 2018 cover story). Recently, his work has demonstrated that a brain-to-gut signal controls intestinal fat absorption, and identified Gabra1+ neurons as a new target for obesity treatment (Nature, 2024).
- The research has garnered extensive media coverage, including CCTV, China National Radio, Xinhua News Agency, China Daily, and EurekAlert. These achievements have been honored as the Shanghai Youth May 4th Medal, the Top 10 Advances in Biomedical Technology (2018), and the Top 10 Advances in Traditional Chinese Medicine (2024). And Dr. Xue also been awarded the President’s Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 100 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Beijing Outstanding Graduate, and the Young Excellent Research Award.
