Massimo Terzolo is Full Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Turin. He is Director of the Hospital Department of Medical Area and Oncology, and Head of the Division of Internal Medicine at University Hospital San Luigi Gonzaga in Orbassano -Italy.

He is a clinical and translational researcher in adrenal diseases and endocrine oncology, with major clinical expertise in the management of patients with adrenal tumors and conduction of clinical trials. He coordinated the first prospective study on adjuvant mitotane treatment in non-metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma (ADIUVO trial) and contributed to the largest prospective trial in advanced adrenocortical carcinoma (FIRMACT trial). His research enabled significant advances in the development of novel therapeutic modalities for adrenocortical carcinoma (LD&E 2023, NEJM, 2012 and 2007).

He was a member of the panel for the European Society of Endocrinology Guidelines on Adrenal Incidentalomas (2016 and 2023) and Adrenocortical Carcinoma (2018).

He was awarded The Endocrine Society International Award for Excellence in Published Clinical Research in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism in 2002 and 2011, and is the recipient of the “Clinical Endocrinology Journal Foundation and the European Society of Endocrinology Award for 2025”.

He authored more than 300 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, receiving more than 20000 citations, impact factor >1400 and h-index of 71.
