Lyu Qianqian is currently a Principal Investigator and Doctoral Supervisor at Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and a recipient of the National Youth High-Level Talent program. Her research has long focused on the field of “brain-gut interaction in regulating energy metabolism.” She discovered a novel physiological phenomenon where the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus (DMV) in the brainstem regulates the length of jejunal microvilli, thereby influencing fat absorption.
She has published high-impact papers in journals such as Nature and Metabolism as the first or corresponding author. Her findings on the brain-gut axis have been featured in commentaries in Nature and Nature Reviews Endocrinology, and are regarded as work that “updates the understanding of nutrient absorption.”
