SUN Aijun, China

Prof. Aijun Sun, served as Director of Key Laboratory of Ischemic Heart Disease of the National Health Commission, has been dedicated to research in heart failure and energy metabolism for over 20 years. Her insights into mitochondrial metabolism and immune inflammation’s role in cardioprotection and HF progression have been clinically implemented, with some findings integrated into cardiology textbooks, Chinese and European heart failure guidelines. Prof. Sun has led 12 national research grants and authored over 120 SCI papers in renowned journals such as Eur Heart J, Circulation, and PNAS. She has also been granted authorization for 27 national invention patents, some of them have  been commercialized.
