Fangchao Liu is a Research Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, a Doctoral Supervisor at Peking Union Medical College, and a recipient of the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Her research focuses on cardiovascular epidemiology and population-based prevention of cardiovascular diseases. She is the principal investigator of a National Science and Technology Major Project, four grants from the NSFC, and a Key Program of National Natural Science of Beijing. As first or corresponding author, she has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, including Circulation, JACC, and Stroke. She has also contributed to two authorized invention patents as a core team member. Her research findings have been cited by > ten national and international clinical guidelines and expert consensus statements, and her work was recognized as one of the Significant Medical Advances in China in 2023. She also holds several academic and editorial positions, including Deputy Secretary-General and Committee Member of the Professional Committee on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Control Professional Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Standing Committee Member of the Precision Medicine Branch of the Chinese Society of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology, Associate Editor of Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications, Guest Editor-in-Chief of a Special Issue of Cardiac Research, and Editorial Board Member of Fundamental Research.
