Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Medcine

Xiadi He, Principal Investigator at the Shanghai Institute of Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is a recipient of several prestigious national talent programs, including the National High-Level Talents Program, the Shanghai High-Level Talents Program, and the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents. Dr. He has long been dedicated to the study of novel protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) and their roles in metabolic diseases. He has published research articles as first or corresponding author in Cell, Cell Metabolism (cover article), Molecular Cell, Cell Research (cover article), and Cell Reports. He was the first to report two novel PTMs—protein vitcylation and protein aminoacylation. His major findings have been highlighted in expert commentaries in journals including Cancer Discovery, Cell Metabolism, and Cell Research. The discovery of protein aminoacylation was described as “a new milestone” a “breakthrough,” and “an important advancement in the field of post-translational modifications” by Professor Nahum Sonenberg (member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences) and Professor Sung-Hoon Kim (recipient of the Ho-Am Prize in Medicine).
