Dr. Jingyuan Fu is a professor of systems medicine at the University Medical Centre Groningen in the Netherlands. Her research aims to acquire a greater knowledge of how the human genome and the gut microbiome interact with each other and affect human health, so that we can create better methods for disease prediction, prevention, and treatment. She is a founder of the Dutch Microbiome Project and became an Elected Member of KHMW (荷兰皇家科学和人文院院士) in 2025. She has received several prestigious grants and awards from the Netherlands and the European Research Council, including ERC-CoG, NWO-VENI, VIDI, VICI, and the 2023 Ammodo Science Award. She has also been recognized as a “Highly Cited Researcher” by Web of Science since 2020. She is the Editor-in-Chief of iMeta, which aims to unite metagenomics and bioinformatics for scientific advance. She also serves at Editorial board of PLoS Genetics, Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics, as well as Medicine in Microecology.
