Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine
Jiang Yiran, Ph.D. Deputy Chief Physician. As the main investigator of the project, she participated in the epidemiological survey of primary aldosteronism(PA), and firstly reported the prevalence of PA in refractory hypertension patients in China was 7.1%. She proposed the use of ACTH stimulation test to distinguish unilateral and bilateral PA in order to achieve non-invasive classification diagnosis. She also proved elevated parathyroid hormone(PTH) was one of the characteristics of PA and can be used as a prognostic indicator. She then detected the landscape of candidate driver genes in APAs and confirmed that KCNJ5 gene mutation was closely related to the prognosis of APAs. She has published over 30 SCI papers and served as the first responsible person for multiple projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation. She was awarded the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress(rank 4th place), the first prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress(rank 5th place) and the first prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology (rank 4th place). She twice participated in the Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Aldosteronism in China.
