TENG Weiping g is currently the Director of the Endocrine Institute at China Medical University, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. He is a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance and serves as the Director of the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory for Thyroid Diseases and the National Key Laboratory for Thyroid Diseases (Preparatory Base). Previously, he held leadership roles including Standing Council Member of the Chinese Medical Association, President of the Liaoning Provincial Medical Association, Vice Chairman (6th–8th terms) and Chairman (9th term) of the Chinese Society of Endocrinology (CSE), and Honorary Chairman of the 11th CSE. Internationally, he served as President of the 16th International Thyroid Congress (ITC), Vice President of the Asia & Oceania Thyroid Association (AOTA), and is a member of the American Thyroid Association (ATA) and The Endocrine Society (TES). He has been awarded the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award twice and has authored over 210 peer-reviewed papers in prominent journals. His seminal work, Effect of iodine intake on thyroid diseases in China, was published in The New England Journal of Medicine and The BMJ in 2006, contributing significantly to global thyroid research.
