Sin Gon Kim is Professor in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and also Director of Diabetes Center at the Korea University Hospital. He graduated with his medical degree in 1993 and also received his PhD degree in 2005 from Korea University College of Medicine. He served as the Director, Committee of Scientific Affairs in the Korean Endocrine Society and the Chair, Scientific Program Committee of the Seoul International Congress of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SICEM, 2017-2018). Currently he is the Director, Committee of Planning in the Korean Endocrine Society.
His clinical activities are mainly related to clinical endocrinology, clinical trials and pharmacoepidemiologic studies. He has been an investigator in many cardiovascular outcome trials. Now, he is a principal investigator of a very unique immigrant study named NOrth Korea Refugees iN South Korea (NORNS) Study. His work has been published widely in noted International journals including Lancet, BMJ, Stroke, and Diabetes Care.
