•Dr Zhang gained her MD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China. Currently, she is a professor in National Clinical Research Centre for Metabolic Diseases, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

•She has published over 100 research papers, including 《Lancet》, 《Lancet Diabetes Endocrinol》, 《Cell Metab》, 《Nat Metab》, 《Nat Rev Endocrinol》,《Nat Commun》, 《Diabetes Care》. Since 2000, Dr Zhang has focused her researches on the clinical and mechanical research of type 2 diabetes, obesity and the associated diseases.
